SRINAGAR: The J&K government on Thursday said that it can reverse its own order of mass transfers affected from March Ist this year.
Education Minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari, appealed Teachers’ community not to panic over the recent mass transfer order issued by Directorate of School Education Kashmir.
The Minister said, there is scope of modifications in the order under norms.
As the schools reopened after three months long winter vacations, the long list of transfers in school education department surprised many and thus teachers were seen thronging DSEK office in Srinagar than their respective schools.
The Directorate of School Education in Kashmir witnessed chaotic scenes with teachers from far flung areas submitting their respective pleas over the latest transfer order that the directorate uploaded on its official site http://www.dsek.nic.in. Scores of teachers/ lecturers and Masters alleged the education department of compiling the transfer list in a jiffy that too without ascertaining the stay period, health issues and genuine grievances of the teachers who have been transferred. Female teachers were up in arms for being posted in rough terrains and inaccessible areas.
I can assure you that we have taken cognizance of the grievances of teachers, lecturers and masters who have been transferred. There wouldnt be any injustice to anyone. If there is a pre-mature stay, health issue or other genuine grievance of any teacher, it will be resolved on priority, Altaf Bukhari told KNS.
He added that teachers who feel that postings have not been made under norms or they have been assigned inconvenient postings, particularly the female teachers, should not panic.
Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed, the recent 343 page mass transfer order hasnt been issued while taking the education minister into confidence and that the list was compiled much before Bukhari assumed office of the Education Minister.
The list was prepared with Naeem Akhtar as the education minister. It was finalised then only and has been made public now, says a senior official in the education department.
