Focus on Militancy: IGP To Cops

SRINAGAR: Kashmir police chief, SJM Gilani, on Wednesday called for focus on militancy and protection of the people.

He directed police officers to further “fine tune their anti-militancy operations” and also keep a check on social crimes.

IGP Gilani said this in his meetings with officers at District Police offices at Shopian and Pulwama today, J&K police spokesperson said in a statement.

He directed the officers to work with more dedication to consolidate the peaceful atmosphere in their respective areas.

The officers of the two South Kashmir districts apprised the IGP about the security scenario, crime control, community policing and anti-militancy operations in their respective jurisdictions.

“Welfare of jawans has always been priority and more welfare schemes have been introduced to benefit the jawans and for their families in recent times,” he told the cops during the meetings.

He, however, impressed up on them to work with dedication and devotion to ensure a sense of security and peace among the public.
