11 Days On, Trucks Carrying Rice Remain Unloaded

SRINAGAR: As the Food and Allied workers continue to strike to press their demands, the loaded trucks which arrived here from Jammu have not been unloaded for past 11 days.

The truck drivers who had come from Jammu to Srinagar told KNS that the trucks remain unloaded as the workers here are on strike. “We are facing immense hardships as we are stuck here from past more than 11 days,” the truck drivers said.

They said that the government is doing nothing for the truck drivers who along with their vehicles are stuck from past several days. “Nobody is paying heed over our sufferings. We seek the intervention of the government in this regard,” the truck drivers said.

They said that the government must fulfil the demands of the labours so that their loaded trucks could be unloaded.

The drivers said that they have nothing to eat and are passing the days and nights under the open sky.

They appealed the Minister for consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) department, Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest.
