CJM Bandipora extends Masarat’s remand till March 10

Srinagar:  The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) on Monday extended the police remand of incarcerated Muslim League chairperson, Masarat Aalam Bhat till March 10.

Bhat was shifted to police station Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after the state government challenged the bail order before the Sessions Judge Bandipora who suspended its operation until 27 Feb in last week.

“Aalam was produced before CJM Bandipora today where his remand was extended till March 10,” ML legal secretary, Shah Reyaz told KNS.

He said that an FIR No 53/2015 is lodged against him in police station Hajin.

Aalam is continuously behind bars since he spearheaded mass uprising 2010.

He was arrested on October 18, 2010 and was released for mere 40 days in February 2015 since then. (KNS)
