Srinagar: An army major who was injured in militant attack in Moolu Chitargam area of Shopian Thursday morning succumbed to his injuries, reports said.
The slain major has been identified as Major Amar Deep, belt no, 70353x.
With the death of a major, the death toll in the todays attack has reached to five including a women
Earlier three army men were killed in the morning attack.
A women was also killed after being hit by a ‘stray’ bullet inside her home.
The militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
However Army Spokesman Rajesh Kali while talking to Kashmir Observer denied the reports of succumbing of army major.
