Shopian Attack: Hizb owns responsibility;say 5 army men killed

Srinagar : Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has owned the responsibility for the attack carried out in Shopian District in South Kashmir early Thursday morning.

In a telephonic statement, Hizb operation spokesperson, Burhan-ud-Din, said that five army men were killed and seven injured in the attack.

Hailing the Hizb squad that carrying out the attack, he quoted Deputy Chief Peer Saifullah Khalid and Mehmood Ghaznavi as having “congratulated the squad for carrying out a successful attack on army patrol party” .

Earlier Police said that three army men were killed  and five others were wounded in the militant attack.

A women was also killed after hit by a stray bullet.
