Shopian: Three army men and a woman were killed and five other army men were wounded after militants ambushed a patrol party in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday
A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was carried out at Kungnoo village in Shopian, by 44 RR and Police, police said adding the CASO concluded without any arrest or recovery, said a police statement.
However, while returning from Kungnoo, the CASO party was attacked by unknown militants at Mulu Chitragam at about 2 am resulting in injuries to six army personnel including two officers, added statement.”Later three army soldiers succumbed to their injuries”.
One Women Taja Wife of Ghulam Mohammed Mir of Mulu, who according to police was hit by a stray bullet inside her house during the cross fire also succumbed to her injuries.
