CM Orders Survey of Specially Abled Persons

JAMMU: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, on Tuesday said that she has directed the Social Welfare Department to undertake an enumerative survey to identify the specially-abled persons in the State so that comprehensive measures are taken for their complete integration into the social set up.

The Chief Minister said this while giving away a motorised wheel chair to a specially-abled boy in Jammu today.

Mehbooba Mufti said all the universities and colleges in the State have also been asked to furnish a list of such differently abled students to the Government for attending on their specific needs and requirements.

The Chief Minister said her Government would soon roll out a Disability Policy for the State.

The Chief Minister gave away a motorised wheel chair to Satnam Singh, son of Vinod Singh of Lakad Mandi, Janipur.
