SRINAGAR : The enforcement squad of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department has conducted market checking in various parts of Srinagar and realized fine of Rs 24500 from violators.
According to the Deputy Director FCS&CA Department, the market checking was conducted from February 1 to February 18 in the markets of Maharaja Bazar, LD Hospital, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Batmaloo, Safa Kadal, Ali Jan Road, Saida Pora, Zoonimar, Soura, Tengpora, Gangbugh, Nawa Bazar, Eidgah, Alamgari Bazar, Lal Bazar, Haba Kadal, Parray Pora, Sanat Nagar, Batwara, Qamerwari Chowk, Parimpora, and Shalteng.
He said that as many as 145 business establishments were inspected and a penal sum of Rs 24500 was realized as fine from erring traders for violating provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
