Delhi Police Arrest 3 Sopore Youth

SRINAGAR: Three youth from Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have been arrested by Special Cell of Delhi police following information by J&K police, sources said on Tuesday.

They said that the youths from Batpora Sopore were arrested by the special cell on Monday after J&K police informed them about their movement in the Indian capital and required information about the trio who is learnt to have been evading arrest for their alleged involvement in stone pelting for last nearly three weeks.

They identified the arrested trio as Yawar Muzaffar, Waseem Dar and Danish Dar.

“They were on run and were instrumental in stone pelting protests,” sources said. 

A senior police officer while confirming the arrests said that FIRs–481/2016 and 31/2017 stand registered in Sopore against the trio.
