BJP Wants ‘Semblance Of Normalcy’ At Sgr, Jmu Airports

Srinagar : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – the coalition partner in J&K government – on Friday appealed Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to change the “dress code” of the security personnel deployed inside the Srinagar and Jammu airports. Besides, the right wing paryy demanded set up of hi-tech women police stations at Rajbagh in Srinagar and in Jammu.

It may be noted that CM also holds the portfolio of Home department.

In a statement the BJP’s Kashmir spokesperson said, “smartly dressed security personnel at both the airports would make passengers feel comfortable and would add to the semblance of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“Tourist season is picking up and people from different states and other countries have started thronging Jammu and Srinagar. It’s high time to carry out the reformative measures so that people start feeling the change on the ground,” the spokesperson said.

“The security personnel deployed outside the airport terminals can continue to wear the uniforms but the dress code of the security men within the Airport premises needs to be changed,” the BJP suggested.

The BJP spokesperson further urged the Chief Minister to establish full-fledged and hi-tech women police stations at Rajbagh in Srinagar and in Jammu.
