Illegal shops being constructed in Anantnag 

Anantnag : Illegal constructions are going unabated in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, while the authorities are acting as mute spectators with taking no action on them.

Illegal shops are being constructed by some miscreants in Bonginowgam area of Anantnag.

Locals while talking to Kashmir Observer said that illegal shops are being constructed on government land about half Km’s away from the main town Anantnag.

“The revenue officials have failed to stop these illegal constructions. It seems that they are hand in glove with the encroachers,” allege locals.

They said  that these illegal construction are being done by the influential people which has kept the concerned authorities silent.

The local court has put a stay on the construction of these illegal shops, but owners still violate the court order by constructing these shops, said locals. 

A local revenue official said that these shops are being constructed illegally. I have taken this matter with higher officials and I am waiting for their orders.

When contacted Tehsildar Anantnag said that he will look into the matter.”If these shops are constructed illegally , then they will be demolished, “he said .
