Police arrest youth after killing parents and a neighbour

Doda: Police Thursday arrested a 24 years old youth after stabbing his parents to death. The assailant also killed his neighbour and critically wounded two tenants who tried to save the old parents from his wrath. The incident occurred in Thathri area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir and assailant has been identified as Firdous Ahmed.

Station House Officer Tathri Police Station Vinay Parihar told CNS that there was a tiff off between Firdous and his parents on Thursday morning. “The assailant lost cool and attacked his old parents .Ghulam Muhammad (80) and Salima Begum (65) with a sharp edged knife. Neighbours as well as some tenants rushed to the spot after hearing the screams. The assailant attacked them as well resulting in the death of a neighbour too who has been identified as Bahar-u-Din,” Parihar said and added that two tenants from Punjab have been undergoing treatment at District Hospital Doda.

He said that the assailant has been arrested and a case vide FIR number 9/2017 under section 302, 307 under RPC has been registered against him. “Investigation has been going on and we are trying to know what led the assailant to kill his parents and the neighbour,” he said.
