Clashes In Pulwama During Anti-Militant Operation

Srinagar :Clashes erupted at Muran area Pulwama district after forces launched cordon and search operations after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.

The forces cordoned off Bon Mohalla village of Murran and launched searches. However as the searches were underway, the locals came out of their houses and confronted government forces. Reports said that the forces were pelted with stones by locals, ensuing clashes between the two sides.

As the clashes were underway, police fired dozens of teargas shells to disperse the locals hampering counter-insurgency operations. Later the search operation concluded without any result. Reports said the vehicles of forces after returning from Murran were stoned by youths at Murran Chowk at Pulwama Town. (GNS)
