School Burning Incident: Two Officials Suspended

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara on Tuesday ordered an inquiry into the burning of a school at Radbugh area of Drugmulla in the frontier district of north Kashmir last week.

“I have ordered an inquiry into the incident and have placed headmaster and chowkidar of the Boys High School Radbugh under suspension,” Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, told a local news gathering agency, GNS.

He said that an FIR has been already registered into the incident and the police station concerned has launched the investigations into it.

The school was burnt down during intervening night of 26/27 January and gutted entire administrative block, housing entire school record and computer lab.

Last year, nearly three dozen schools were burnt down in different parts of the valley following which Jammu and Kashmir High Court took the suo-motto cognizance and directed all the authorities to ensure that no school is burnt down in the valley.
