Srinagar: 14-year-old, Sahil Ahmad, was released from detention on late Tuesday from a jail in Kotbalwal.
Sahil, a resident of Srinagar, was booked under notorious Public Safety Act (PSA) and was lodged in Kotbalwal Jail Jammu.
Independent legislator, Er Rasheed, had protested his denteion in J&K Legislature forcing government to reconsideer its decision to book Sahil under PSA. Rasheed had produced Date of Birth certificate of Sahil before Speaker LA which proved that Sahil was a minor.
On Monday, Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti had announced that her government would release Sahil.
Spokesperson of Rasheeds AIP, Inam un Nabi, told the Kashmir Observer late Tuesday night that Sahil was received by his mother, MLA Langate, Er Rasheed and himslef at Kotbalwal Jail Jammu on early this evening.
