10 army men killed,4 missing in Gurez avalanches

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that bodies of ten soldiers have been recovered from Gurez where an avalanche had hit the army posts and patrols.

Top police sources confirmed that ten bodies have so far been recovered adding that one soldier was rescued alive, while four others are still missing.

Earlier, Army said that two avalanches hit army posts and patrols in Gurez sector of north Kashmir on Jan 25 and 26.

In a statement, army said that a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and six soldiers were rescued after the avalanches hit their posts .
