World Powers Failed Kashmir: UJC Chief

Srinagar: Accusing United Nations and United State of America being partial and biased with regard to Kashmir imbroglio, United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin Wednesday said that world powers intervene only when their interests are at stake.

He said that global powers wasted no time in resolving issues like East-Timor, Scotland and South Sudan. “These powers act as mute spectators when it comes to Kashmir though over 18 resolutions with regard to Kashmir are present in United Nations,” he said and asked Pakistan to extend “military support to Kashmir’s freedom fighters to help them accomplish their long-cherished goal of freedom from India”.

“The festering (Kashmir) issue is not going to resolve through talks or resolutions. Pakistan should militarily support Kashmiris by providing resources to the ‘mujahideen’ (militants),” Salahuddin said at a press conference at Central Press Club of Muzaffarabad.

He said that there are people in India who acknowledge Kashmir as a dispute and accept that India has been “unleashing terror” in Kashmir. “India has been misleading world over Kashmir issue though world organizations like Amnesty International and Asia Watch has completely exposed the dual policies of India.”

Salahuddin accused India of “inflicting brutalities” over minorities and said that since 1947 thousands of Muslims have been butchered and not a single culprit was booked or punished. “India has broken all the records of terror in Kashmir. It has depriving people of Kashmir from their birth right. It has been indulging in arson, arrests, killings, rape, enforced disappearances and other crimes in Valley,” he said.

The United Jihad Council Chief, according to news agency CNS, said, “after the martyrdom of Burhan Wani, Indian government exercised each and every brutish measure to suppress the unarmed freedom-seeking people, but, ironically, neither did the international community appear upset over the atrocities nor the double-standard wielding world powers tried to rein in the oppressor.”

“When the world is paying no heed to us, the only option left with us is the armed struggle,” he said.

Alleging that Government of India wants to “change” the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Salahuddin appealed Kashmiri Pandits to return back to Valley. “You (migrant Pandits) will get more respect from Muslims if you settle in your own houses. People in Kashmir will foil all the ill designs of India,” he said.

Salahuddin said that Syed Ali Geelani and other resistance leaders along with people are “up in arms against India”. “Tunnels are being erected to strengthen the occupation. Forests are being burnt and occupied,” he said. “Kashmiri people should thwart all these conspiracies with the power of unity and harmony.”

Pays Tributes To Two Slain Militants

The UJC Chief Syed Salahuddin paid rich tributes to Qari Anas and Abu Ali, the two militants who were killed in a gun fight in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

Salahuddin said, “the sacrifices of these militants will rejuvenate the Kashmir freedom Sstruggle.”

As per a statement to news agency CNS, Salahuddin said, “the sacrifices of people are a clear indication that the ongoing struggle will reach to its logical conclusion.”

“We reiterate that the blood of martyrs will not go to waste. History is testimony to the fact that sacrifices show their true colour one day,” he said.
