SRINAGAR:  Residents of Shalapora Aloochibagh here in Srinagar city on Tuesday morning blocked the road demanding regularity in supply of drinking water.

A large number of women along with utensils and empty buckets hit to roads and raised anti-government slogans alleging that area has been witnessing acute shortage of water supply from past one week.

The police prevailed upon them to withdraw their protest and restored vehicular traffic. The protesters expressed anger over inadequacy of drinking water supply and appealed Public Health Engineering Department to look into the matter. (CNS)
