Congress Lawmaker seeks Macadamisation of Bandipora-Sumbal Road

Srinagar: MLA Bandipora Usman Majeed on Monday came into the well of lower house of J&K Legislature – during winter session which is going on in Jammu – draped in a white cloth with slogans inscribed on its.

The Bandipora lawmaker was demanding macadamisation of Bandipora-Sumbal road.

He termed the condition of Bandipora-Sumbal road as “worst in India”.

“I raised this issue two years before in this house and the project was given to BEACON,” Usmaan said, “The department is unaccountable and nothing has happened to the road since.”

He demanded that the project should be handed over to the R&B immediately.

“It takes two and half hours for us to cover 20 kms of distance,” he said, urging government to save the people from accidents.

Usman was later assured by the government that the matter will be looked into.
