Return of Migrants: Now Upper House Passes Resolution

Srinagar: The Upper House of J&K Legislative Assembly Friday unanimously adopted a Resolution seeking early return of Kashmiri migrants to the Valley.

The Resolution was moved by Minister for Education and the Leader of House, Naeem Akhtar.

Notably, a day earlier, the Lower House of the assembly also passed a resolution seeking return of Kashmiri migrants including Kashmiri Pandits to valley. The resolution was introduced by former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition, Omar Abdullah.

An official spokesperson while quoting Akhtar said, “Kashmiri Pandits are a part and parcel of the Kashmir’s unique composite culture and every effort would be made to ensure their return with dignity to their roots.”

“Kashmir is incomplete without Pandits,” he said, “Kashmir’s Composite culture and communal harmony is known worldwide.”
