Mirwaiz, Malik hail debate in British Commons

Srinagar: Chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference (M) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) today welcomed the British Parliamentarian statement that people of the Kashmir should be given the right to decide their future in accordance with the provisions of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on the issue.

Moderate HC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid this afternoon said welcomed the British parliamentarians statement that people of Kashmir should be given the right to determine their own future in accordance with the provisions of the UNSC resolutions just like it was given to British people in the form of brexit vote.

Mirwaiz said holding a referendum is the most transparent and democratic way to determine people’s will and give them a fair chance express their choice. It is a simple way of resolving disputes avoiding wars and human sufferings and moving towards peace and progress.

Referring to outgoing US national security adviser Susan Rice warning that nuclear powered India and Pakistans constant skirmishes over Kashmir can lead to catastrophic scenarios globally, Mirwaiz said this recognition of the Kashmir dispute and its disastrous global ramifications makes its resolution all the more urgent.

He said let better sense prevail upon the leadership of the subcontinent and let us resolve the issue once for all and save our current and future generations from a life of uncertainty mistrust and animosity.

Welcoming the debate held in British parliament yesterdayin which majority of the British parliamentarian supported the right of self determination of the people of Jammu  Kashmir and also condemned the alleged use of force by Indian army  and forces against Kashmiris, JKLF chairman said that international  community has an obligation to work for the resolution of all  conflicts like Jammu Kashmir as this is mandatory for the lasting  peace and prosperity of the whole mankind.

He said that sooner these issues, conflicts and disputes confronting and jeopardizing  the peace and progress of humans are resolved, better it will be  for the future of the whole world. He hoped that better sense will  prevail and international community rising above the considerations  of its business and economic interests will work for poor and  subjugated people and ensure and safeguard their rights too.
