Anantnag: A complete shutdown was observed in various parts of South Kashmirs Anantnag district for the second day on Tuesday over the killing of three local Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants at the hands of the government forces.
All the shops, other business establishments and private offices remained shut in Bijbehara, Srigufwara, Kanelwon, Arwani and Sallar areas of the district while as the traffic remains off the roads.
Three local Hizb militant identified as Adil Reshi, Abdid Shiekh and Masood Ahmad were killed in a night long encounter in Awoora village of Pahalgam that had ended on Monday morning. Thousands of people braving heavy snowfall had participated in their last rites.
