Srinagar:The Kashmir Valley on Monday received the fresh snowfall, thus decreasing the intensity in cold wave. This is the 2nd spell of snowfall witnessed by Valley during January month this winter.
The Divisional administration has issued weather advisory and asked people residing in higher reaches and avalanche prone areas of Kangan sub-division in central Kashmirs Ganderbal and also in north Kashmir areas not to venture near slopes of hilly areas and other avalanche-prone areas.
State Meteorological Department had forecast moderate but widespread rain and snow in the plains and heavy snowfall in higher reaches till this evening. Reports said that on the 27th day of ongoing harshest cold period Chillai Kalan, the Srinagar and other areas in Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall during preceding night.
