Srinagar: Braving snowfall and chill thousands of people from different villages of Bijbehara and Srigufwara areas Monday started marching towards the native villages of three local militants to participate in their Nimaz-e-Jinaza.
Local said that people are rushing towards Bijbehara, Satkipora and Bewoora to attend the funeral of the deceased militants.
Meanwhile, Massive protests erupted in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir on Monday against the death of three militants in an encounter with forces in Awoora village of Pahalgam.
Locals said that the trio was killed after forces blasted the house in which they were holed up.
The three slain militants have been identified as Adil Ahmad Reshi, Abid Ahmad Sheikh and Masood Ahmad Shah, all residents of Bijbehara.
As the news of their death spread, people took to the streets despite the heavy snowfall and staged protests.
Meanwhile, all shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town to mourn the deaths.
