Srinagar: Hundreds of students who missed the first paper in the 10th class examination conducted in November 2016 allegedly due to the confusion created by the BOSE held protests here at Press Enclave, Srinagar fearing they might have already lost one year if they didnt get a chance to appear in the paper.
The traumatized students say the BOSE is not willing to conduct the examination of the paper they missed.
BOSE changed the examination timing at the eleventh hour, the protesting students said. Mobile services were out of order and internet, too, was banned as a result we couldnt receive the news well in time about the change of timing.
We reached the examination centre at 2.00 on the first day and missed our Science paper, they said. The BOSE authorities assured us that they will conduct the exam of our missed paper before the declaration of the exam result but now they have back tracked and have informed us that exam will be conducted only after the declaration of the final result.
The approach of the BOSE authorities is callous and they dont understand that students will lose a precious year for a single paper, they said. We request Education Minister to look into the matter and get our examination conducted before the declaration of the result.
Chairman BOSE, Zahoor Ahmed Chatt told CNS that he cant help these students. BOSE will conduct the examination of their missed paper only after the declaration of the result and they have to appear as Re-appear students, he said.
Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar said that he will look into the matter. (CNS)
