Militants Give Forces Slip After Injuring 2

Hajin: Two army men were injured in a gun battle that raged in Shahgund Hajin area of northern district of Kashmir, Bandipora Thursday morning between suspected militants and forces.

Sources said that on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area, army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation in Shahgund Hajin area in the wee hours of Thursday.

Police officials said that militants, believed to be three in number, opened fire at the forces who were laying a siege in Gulshanpora Mohalla of Shahgund in Hajin, injuring two army men. The injured army men have been shifted to a hospital.  Reports said that the suspected militants managed to escape from the area. (CNS)
