Shabir Shah released after 6 months,placed under house arrest

Srinagar: Senior separatist leader and chairman of Demcratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah was on Wednesday released after six months of detention.

He was arrested on July 13 and lodged in police station Raj Bagh.As per a statement issued to press, a party spokesperson said Shah was released on Wednesday afternoon and placed under house arrest.

He said since Shah was released in 2011, he was kept either under house arrest or in police detention for a period of 39 months and 27 days which include 227 Friday and 12 Eid prayers.
