Srinagar: Police on Thursday detained Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) chairman and MLA Langate Er Rasheed after he tried to stage a march against issuing of domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees.
We had planned a peaceful protest march today from Sher-e-Kashmir Park Srinagar against issuing domicile certificate to West Pakistani Refugees, said a spokesman.
However, Rasheed was detained near GPO Srinagar when he was leading scores of his party workers.
On Friday, Er. Rasheed will be holding 48 hour sit in outside Mehbooba Muftis Srinagar residence to remind her that she cannot run away by justifying every shameless disasters act, said a party statement.
