Srinagar: Resentment brewing is on among the Inhabitants of Adipora Sopore North Kashmir Baramulla District. The Aadhaar card, which is mandatory for transferring direct cash subsidies to beneficiaries and acquiring other services related to day to day life, is still a distant dream for people of Adipora area of Sopore town, while in other areas of Sopore town the issuance of these cards has already been completed, people of this village are still without Aadhaar cards and the government department still given fake assurance.
The people have not received their Aadhaar cards yet and the time period has crossed more than a year. Earlier the residents of Adipora were promised by concerned department that their problem will be redressed but all in vain.
Adipora area of Sopore town is not shown in the National Population Register (NPR) whenever the residents try to obtain the Aadhaar card but they dont get any help by the departments.
As many as 1500 families reside in the area of Adipora Sopore town. As the Aadhaar number will help them get access to several services and government schemes, students scholarship and other government departments. The inhabitants have been struggling to get the Aadhaar card for the past two years but they dont get anything from government Departments.
Pertinently, Government of India has made it mandatory for people to have Aadhaar cards. In absence of Aadhaar cards people will face immense hardships to get some of the essential services, said an expert.
The inhabitants alleged that the concerned department failed to a redress the issue despite making several attempts to remind them of the problems faced by the people but they are in a deep slumber,
Meanwhile when we contacted Sub District Magistrate Sopore Bashir Ahmad, he told PTK that we are aware of the situation and problems faced by people.
Right now the adhaar process is temporarily stopped from the GOI Government of india . Once work will resume, as soon as possible we will send a team and their genuine grievance will be resolved, he said. (PTK)
