Amid bone chilling days, erratic power supply adds miseries among Srinagarities


Srinagar: The Srinagarities here have expressed resentment against the Power Development Department (PDD) for ‘failing to provide adequate electricity to them during the harsh winters’.

Accusing the PDD department for ignoring their plights, the residents here have demanded immediate redressal of their grievances.

The residents said that the erratic power supply in their areas have left them to suffer in the bone chilling days. “We are facing tremendous hardships due to the non-availability of power in our areas,” the residents said.

The residents of various areas including Rajbagh, Ikhrajpora, Dalgate, Khayam, Baba Demb, Aali Kadal and others said that the from past two months they are being left to lurch at large. “We have also been approaching to the higher authorities of PDD in this regard but unfortunately all in vein,” they said.

They said that the authorities are ignoring their plights and are subjecting them to face hardships. “Authorities must fulfill our genuine demands as soon as possible. In case the department fails to fulfill demands, we will take streets against them,” they threatened. (PTK)
