Srinagar: Large numbers of women have taken to roads to protest against the recently civilian killings in Kashmir valley. Hundreds of women across apple town Following the Huriyat protest calendar, women flock took out a protest rally which starts from Jamia Masjid area towards Main Chowk Sopore.
According to reports Hundreds of women assembled at Jamia Masjid area of Sopore town north Kashmir Baramulla District and held a protest against the recent killings, night raids, property ransacked in Kashmir, amid pro-Islam and pro-freedom slogans were shouted near old Jamia Masjid Sopore. According to reports youth also join the rally and pelted stones on forces that were deployed in main bazaar which later turned into clashes, the clashes were going on however no one was injured when last reports came.
Meanwhile when contacted station house officer of Sopore Mudasir Geelani told that few minor youth pelted stones on the deployed forces, added that minor clashes erupted.
Kashmir is on boil since July 9 after the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani by forces on July 8, more than 94 people have been killed while thousands wounded in protests that erupted after the killing of Wani.
Meanwhile, normal life remained paralyzed elsewhere in the Valley for the 158th day today in view of the strike call given by the separatist camp. (PTK)
