Srinagar: Two persons were killed ,while five others were injured in separate road accidents in the valley, Police said on Wednesday.
In Shopian, a Tractor driven by Basit Qayoom Hajam resident of Boree-Hallan fell into a deep gorge at Chottipora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Herpora, resulting in on spot death of the Tractor driver and injuries to a commuter namely Danish Fayaz resident of Karewa Mangloo. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Shopian for treatment. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased driver was handed over to his next of kins for last rites. Shopian police has registered a case in this regard.
In Srinagar, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian namely Ghulam Ahmad Rather resident of Frasipora Pulwama near Peaks Automobile Bypass Lasjan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam. The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
In another accident, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK01D-8165 hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK04D-1254 driven by Javaid Ahmad Khatana resident of Khurhama Lolab, Kupwara at Pahroo Chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, an unknown Motorcycle hit and injured a pedestrian Habib-ul-lah Dandroo resident of Chattabal, Srinagar at Rampora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Parimpora. The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
Srinagar police has registered cases regarding these accidents.
In Kupwara, a School van bearing registration number JK09-7901 skidded off the road at Shalgund Lalpora, resulting in injuries to two students boarding the vehicle. Both the injured were shifted to Lalpora Hospital for treatment. Kupwara police has registered a case in this regard.
In Anantnag, an unknown Scooter hit and injured a pedestrian namely Mohammad Rajab Bhat resident of Soaf near Cement Bridge Soaf in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kokernag. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Anantnag police has registered a case in this regard.
