ISLAMABAD:A Pakistani plane on a domestic flight with 47 people on board on Wednesday crashed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the media reported.
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane was flying from the northern city of Chitral to Islamabad when it crashed, Xinhua news agency said quoting Pakistani media.
The plane, whose pilot gave a distress call before it went off the radar, went down in a mountainous area, Pakistani newspapers and television channels reported.
The accident took place near the town of Abbottabad.
Former singer-turned-evangelist Junaid Jamshed was on board Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-661, which has crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral today, reported Dawn News.
Junaid Jamshed and his wife Nahya Junaid are feared dead, though no confirmation of the state of the flight's passenger's has been recieved as yet, it said.
