SRINAGAR:The separatists have extended the strike till December 15, though there will be relaxation for three days from Saturday in Kashmir Valley, which reeled under unrest since July 9, a day after Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter in Anantnag.
However, the separatists have urged people to march towards United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) office in Srinagar on December 10 evening.
The separatists have asked people to handover a memorandum to the military observers regarding India’s continuous alleged denial of political right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for last seven decades.
Both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), spearheading the agitation since July 9, in their previous three calendars had given relaxation in strike on weekends.
However, for the first time, there will be relaxation for three days from Saturday, the calendar said, adding that there will be no relaxation on December 13.
But, separatists have asked people to do normal business from 1600 hrs to 0800 hrs on December 14 and December 15.
Killing of Burhan was followed by massive protests across the Valley during which over 90 people, mostly youth, were killed and several thousands were wounded in security force and police actions.
