Nagrota: A day after deadly militant attack on Army Base, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) Wednesday destroyed scores of unexploded shells at the site of the attack in Nagrota town of Jammu Division.
“Scores of unexploded shells that in our terminology are called Blinds have been destroyed by BDS. The combing operation is still in progress,” a Defense official told news agency CNS.
He added that Blinds were spotted after massive combing operation resumed during wee hours on Wednesday. “Every nook and cranny is being searched. We don’t want to take any risk,” the official said.
Pertinently, seven Indian soldiers lost their lives after a group of heavily-armed unidentified militants in police uniform stormed Nagrota army unit on Tuesday morning. The slain soldiers included two army officers. (CNS)
CM lays wreath on mortal remains of slain Army personnel
Jammu: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today laid wreath on the mortal remains of seven Army personnel killed in a militant attack yesterday at Nagrota, Jammu.
The Chief Minister expressed solidarity with the families of the slain jawans and officers and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Mehbooba Mufti said the cycle of violence has brought immense miseries to the people of the State who want an end to it.
Director General of Police, senior officers of Army and civil administration were present on the occasion. (CNS)
