SRINAGAR: The 453rd annual urs of Hazrat Sultanul Aarifeen Sheikh Hamza Makdhoom Sahib (RA) was observed with the religious fervor and enthusiasm here on Thursday.
Braving the bone chilling cold, hundreds of devotees also observed the night long prayers in the shrine on the conclusion of the Urs.
Special prayers were also organized at different places in which hundreds of devotees participated.
However, the main congregation was held at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Makdoom Sahib (RA) at Kohi-Maran hill here.
According to KNS correspondent, hundreds of devotees including men, women, old and children thronged the shrine and observed the night long prayers there. Devotees also participated in the special prayers here.
Similar prayers were also held at other places in the Valley.
The religious clerics also threw light on the contributions by the revered saint in spreading Islam in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, different religious scholars paid glowing tributes to the revered saint for his valuable religious and social services.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Ulma-e-Ahnaf president, Molvi Akhzar Hussain also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the contributions by the revered saint. (KNS)
