Srinagar: A group of college students Wednesday staged a protest demonstration in Press colony Srinagar against the alleged negligence of Kashmir University administration.
The students complained that from last two years their academic session has come to a standstill.
One of the protesting students told, “Since March 2015 we are still in the first year of our degree and have appeared only in the first semester exams”.
The students raised slogans against the officials of the varsity.
They said the university is running late by two years and no one is bothered. “If it continues like this, a three-year degree will take us over six years to complete,” a first year BSc Student said.
The protest continued for over fifteen minutes. The student protesters dispersed off amid slogans against the varsity authorities.
“We have not taken any decision about the examinations yet nor have we set any timetable. The examinations will not be held before March,” controller examination Professor Abdul Salam told.
