Srinagar: As a mark of protest and to express resentment against the present state government, large number of students from Kashmir Valley on Monday appeared on MA Road and cleaned the windscreens of private vehicles. Equating their action with the bleak future awaiting them, the protesting students alleged that state government is hell-bent to ruin their career. “The government is politicizing the matter. Without listening to us it is eager and adamant to go ahead with the examinations. The fact is that we are not prepared for these examinations,” the protesting students told news agency CNS.
The protest was organized by Jammu Kashmir Students Welfare Association. The protesting students carried placards that read: ‘Justice is our right’, ‘Defer exams’, and ‘Don’t play with our future’. The students stopped vehicles and cleaned their windscreen. “Our future is bleak. This is our future and in near future we have to clean the windscreens of the vehicles. The present government wants to make us scapegoat and by conducting exams it wants to show all is well in Kashmir Valley,” the students said.
“Don’t you think government is playing with our future? Board of School Education is yet to come up with the syllabus relaxation scheme. We have been suffering from depression and government has tortured us mentally,” they said.
Meanwhile Chairman Board of School Education Zahoor Ahmed Chatt said that examinations will not be deferred. “It will take few more days for us to come up with our syllabus relaxation pattern. Students need not to worry,” he said. (CNS)
