Bandipora residents protest against absence of doctors in PHC Anchkundal

Srinagar: The residents of Baharabad area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora districton Friday staged protest against the absence of doctors in New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) Anchkundal.

The residents alleged that the doctors in the NTPHC usually remain absent thereby leaving the patents to lurch at large.

Accusing the authorities for ignoring their plights, the residents here have demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.

The protesting residents told KNS that not only the doctors but the other officials of NTPHC also remain absent. “With the deplorable behavior of the doctors, hundreds of patients are being pushed to suffer in this situation,” they alleged.

The protesters threatened to block roads if their genuine demands will not be redressed at earliest.

When contacted, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora, Dr Bilkis Mir, she said, “We will look into the issue and the grievances of attendants and residents will be redressed soon.” (KNS)
