2 Jaish Militants Arrested: Police

Baramulla: Police Saturday said that it arrested two militants who were part of militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad module in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police identified these militants as Safeer Ahmad Bhat of Janbazpora, Baramulla and Farhaan Fayaz Liloo of Jamia Mohalla Baramulla. “The duo was arrested in a joint operation conducted by Police, Army and Paramilitary CRPF.”

According to a police handout these militants were part of Jaish Muhammad militant module operating in Baramulla town and adjacent areas headed by one Pakistani militant operating by code name Khalid.

 “This module along with the arrested duo was involved in militant attack on Army/Police convoy on August 16 this year in Khwajabagh Baramulla in which two Army men and a cop were killed. One AK series rifle one pistol and other arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession,” Police claimed.
