Srinagar:Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Cabinet approved Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for winter capital, Jammu, main opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah questioned Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s silence over the issue, saying ‘she had to sell out her political agenda to remain in power, but he didn't realise she sold her soul also’.
Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, in a series of tweets upped the ante at Ms Mehbooba.
“I realise that @MehboobaMufti has had to sell out her political agenda to remain in power but I didn't realise she's sold her soul also!!!,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Meanwhile, lashing out at people who say that the winter capital was being discriminated against, Mr Abdullah said, “Jammu gets the IIT and gets the IIM, where have all those voices that called for balanced regional development in J&K disappeared.”
Hitting out at the PDP-BJP coalition government for allegedly playing blatant partisan politics, he said no wonder so much of the state is restive today.
“This is just blatant partisan politics of the kind we have come to expect from the BJPDP. No wonder so much of the state is restive today,” he wrote.
“When Kashmir was awarded an AIIMS Jammu agitated, successfully, for its right to be granted one as well. Why this partisanship now,” he asked.
“And don't tell me an "out campus" is good enough because if it was the IIM would have been placed in Kashmir with the out campus in Jammu,” Mr Abdullah added.
