PC Worker Shot Dead In Handwara

Srinagar: An activist of the party led by separatist turned minister Sajad Gani Lone was shot dead by some unknown gunmen in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on late Wednesday night.

Reports said that Peoples Conference worker Ghulam Nabi Khoja was fired upon outside his home in Kralgund village of Handwara area.

“Some unknown gunmen, four to five in number, have called him outside his home, and fired upon him near an electricity transformer,” local sources said.

The incident happened around 8:45 PM, police said.

Khoja was in late forties and is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. “One of his daughters is married while his two sons are studying,” local sources said.

Sources said, “Khoja was an active worker Sajad Gani Lone led Peoples Conference since the days of late Ab Gani Lone.”
