Police Arrest 2 Accused of Rape In Bandipore

SRINAGAR:J&K police on Tuesday arrested two persons accused of raping a minor North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

The incident of rape happened on last Tuesday.

“On 4th of October 2016 Police Station Bandipora received a complaint from father of the victim that his daughter has been raped by two persons identified as Arif Ahmad Baba, son of Abdul Rashid Baba and Aadil Ahmad Reshi, son of Noor Mohammad Reshi, residents of Lankreshipora, Bandipora when she was in a willow nursery to collect fire wood at Lankershipora,” police said in a statement this evening.

“Accordingly, a case FIR number 140/2016 was registered in Police Station Bandipora and investigation was set into motion.”

During the course of investigation, “the girl was medically examined and the results confirmed the rape,” the statement added.

Police acted swiftly and arrested both the accused involved in the crime. Further investigation in this crime is going on, it said.
