Srinagar: In wake of recent Government orders to conduct Board examinations and ongoing examinations in Central Unversity of Kashmir, NSUI Srinagar has received numerous phone calls and messages from the students of Unversity of Kashmir as apprehensions among the students rise that Kashmir University may also notify the conduct of examinations.
NSUI Srinagar on the behalf of students of Kashmir University appeals to the University Administration that as the University has always facilitated the good of the students, it will in the present grim situation also consider the hardships and risks that the students will have to face, if any such decision to conduct examinations is taken. While Kashmir has been facing tremendous anti-people measures from the Government from past 3 months, students getting killed, blinded, beaten, lathi charged and arrested, conducting examinations in such circumstances will only prove to risk the lives of students in grave danger, and such acts will prove to be anti-student
While students have suffered huge academic loss with university shut from last 3 months, syllabus not even near completion, many students won’t be able to attend examinations due to to prevailing conditions and fear.
NSUI Srinagar appeals and requests the university authorities to come up with some novel idea to help students, compensate this loss, and not conduct examinations, such act will jeopardize and put students in a very difficult situation.
Students of Kashmir University have always hailed the university Vice-chancellor as student friendly, and in this moment of crisis this will be tested.
NSUI Srinagar also requests KUTA to strongly support this student cause and appeals to strongly oppose any such act to put students through immense danger and difficulty.
NSUI Srinagar appeals and hopes that the university vice-chancellor and authorities will consider the present scenario and potential risk to students, and stand with students. Peaceful environment is an essential for the conduct of examination. (KNS)
