Srinagar:Hitting out at militants for targeting the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at Pampore on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, main opposition National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah said they (militants) have attacked the institute for the second time this year because they want young Kashmiris to be subservient and bitter, not self-reliant.
An encounter was going on between security forces and militants, who were trapped inside the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) building at Pampore.
“No wonder for the 2nd time this year they have attacked the institute. They want young Kashmiris to be subservient & bitter, not self-reliant,” Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
He said all the EDI ever did was train young Kashmiri boys and girls to stand on their own feet and not seek government jobs, militants don't like that.
Meanwhile, upping the ante at centre for allegedly being blasé over the situation in Kashmir, Mr Abdullah said every day it's either militants snatching guns or staging attacks.
“Every day it's either militants snatching guns or then militants staging attacks. How can the centre be so blasé about where J&K is headed,” he said.
