Srinagar: Ummat e Islami on Saturday held a meeting at party headquarters in which the members of Political Wing and religious wing discussed the reported Curbs on the day of Eid and the prevailing situation in the valley.
In a statement issued to KNS, the Mirwaiz of Southern Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir who has been under continuous detention from the past 62 days expressed anguish over the killing of Yawar Dar from Islamabad and Sayar Ahmed from Shopian.
Mirwaiz Yasir said that the force have exceeded all the limits of barbarism and brutality. After the unprovoked killing of Yawar, the troopers fired at his funeral and in the process even his dead body received dozens of pellets. He said that the Indian State wants to create an atmosphere of fear and havoc. They do not want us to pursue education. “Burning Schools and occupying them is an indication to the same,” he said.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that Indian Nation needs to understand that power and might has never crushed the people’s uprising. Handing over Southern Kashmir to army is a sign of incompetency of the Local PDP Government. The Local Government should hide its head in shame and stop looking for its mistakes.
He said the state is literally failed to take care of any issue and have handed over all the affairs to the armed forces. He said that it is shameful that the State CM is busy in promoting herself with Scooties while youngsters are being killed on the streets.
The Religious wing of Ummat e Islami said that it is shameful that the administration is planning to impose a curfew to bar people from offering Eid prayers according to a news paper report. The Religious clerics said that the first priority of people should be to reach Eid Gah and offer collective prayers. People from all schools of thought should together offer prayers.
The Religious preachers discussed the Islamic jurisdiction put forward by Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir that if curfew is imposed people should not risk their lives; in fact the first condition for any Nimaaz is peaceful environment. And if the state disallows prayers, Qurbani can still be performed; the condition in such situation would not be offering prayers, but the timing of the same. Qurbani can be offered anytime after the scheduled Eid Nimaaz time. The spokesman said that Dr. Qazi Nissar has written a book on the issue titled “Tehqeeqi Nazar”.
The spokesman condemned the continuous detention of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir for the past 62 days. He said that the State fears the Mirwaiz that much that they arrested him on the first day. Meanwhile the party denounced the arrests of youth throughout the valley and condemned the continuous raids on the house of Mowlana Sarjan Barkati who has been on the forefront leading agitation in Southern Kashmir especially Kulgam.
The Board members of Islamic Research Institute have decided that the Qurbani skin will not be collected this year. Perhaps people should donate the skins to their local Mohallah committees who can later sell the same and provide financial assistance to needy people especially Drivers and daily laborers. People should prefer local Mohallah committees over Trusts, Religious Schools. (KNS)
