Lecturer beaten to death in Pampore

SRINAGAR: A 30-year-old contractual lecturer was beaten to death by government forces in  Shaar Saali village of  Khrew Pampore late Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Mongu, son of Wali Mohammad Mongu, resident of Sharshali Khrew.

According to locals, Shabir was picked up by the government forces last night along with other youth during nocturnal raid in the area. A senior doctor at Pampore sub-district hospital said Mangoo was brought dead to the hospital.

The locals said that the  forces barged into their houses and started beating the inmates including the women in which scores were injured.
