City people accuse CRPF of damaging parked vehicles

Srinagar: People in Mahraj Gung area of old city Srinagar city Wednesday alleged that Indian Para-military Central Reserve Police Force personnel caused massive damage to parked vehicles without any provocation. They said that neither any protest nor any stone-pelting was going in the area and yet these lathi and gun wielding CRPF men emerged in the area and targeted every parked vehicle. “Their action simply indicated that they wanted to instigate us for violence and stone-pelting,” locals told CNS.

They said that all the parked vehicles at MR Gunj Wazapora road were damaged by the ‘unbridled’ CRPF personnel. The locals alleged that despite bringing the matter into the notice of concerned police station, no action was taken against the ‘goons’.

When contacted a top police official told CNS that incident is unfortunate and they have taken cognizance of the matter. (CNS)
