Masroor Ansari detained, march foiled

Srinagar: Police detained Masroor Abbas Ansari, Ittehadul Musclemen president and son of veteran separatist leader leader Maulana Abbas Ansari when he was leading a march towards Eidgah Thursday as per programme of 'United Resistance' leadership.
Maulana Masroor broke police cordon around his residence in Khanqah-e-Sopkhta in old city and led a march towards Eidgah. However police soon blocked the way and detained Masroor, a Hurriyat spokesman said.
